On the second day of our Wicklow trip the weather still was not fully on our side. But anyway we got some it-is-not-raining-at-the-moment time that we spent walking around the highest waterfall in Ireland.

Powerscourt Waterfallย (Irish:ย Eas Chonaill),ย is a 121-metre high waterfallย on the River Dargle, nearย Enniskerry. It is base on the grounds of Powerscourt Estate, that is also open to public for a small visitors fee.

To visit the waterfall you need to be prepared to pay a gate fee of 16.00 Euro for a family ticket (2+3) or 6.50 Euro per adult or 5.50 Euro for a smallie. In that price you will get:

  • free parking;
  • free toilet (whoever has a child knows how important that point is);
  • play ground for the youngest;
  • well maintained walking routes;
  • picnic spots with specially designated grill places (and we Poles love to grill, ๐Ÿ™‚ there is nothing better than the smell of the sausage grilling :), a cold Bud in your hand :), loud music coming out of a black Audi (or BMW) :), kids roaring and running around without any supervision – that is life… good it is NOT OUR life)
  • amazing views;
  • free showers – yes, free showers as you can walk down to the very bottom of the waterfall without any obstructions.

Because of the weather, we could not visit the gardens and the Court, but we will try to catch up with that in the nearest future.

That place can busy in the high season, but we can highly recommend it: beautiful views, nice place for a walk to soak up some good natural vibes (as soon as you can mute the noise of some tourists).
