Our visit to the museum would not be completed if we had not seen the last remaining White Star Line ship in the world!
SS Nomadic was built at the same time as RMS Titanic and it was described as “Titanic’s little sister”. It is exactly the quarter of the size of the Titanic and it was build used the same design and luxurious finishes. SS Nomadic is also described as “mini Titanic”.
In April 1912, the Nomadic completed her most famous task by transferring the excited first and second-class passengers from the shallow dockside in Cherbourg out to the Titanic, which was moored in deeper water just off shore.
With active service in both World Wars, over fifty years experience of carrying thousands of passengers to the worldโs largest trans-Atlantic liners and nearly thirty years as a restaurant and party venue moored beside the Eiffel Tower in Paris the Nomadic has a million stories to tell.

Family ticket will cost You 20.00 GBP or, if you bought tickets to visit Titanic Museum, the entry is included in that.
When you come aboard, you feel like you step back in time. All the interior is restored to its originally state, you can walk around without any guides and explore whatever SS Nomadic has to offer. Of course you can ask anyone from the crew, that it is there, any question and you will get detailed information on the topic you are really interested in. For example about famous passengers of the ship (Marie Curie, Charlie Chaplin, Elizabeth Taylor and many more) or about ship’s past (it was used as a cinema and a restaurant).
Walking around, on the decks, that hosted some amazing personalities, gave us a real feel how the life back in time was. With all the tourist buzzing around, we could imagine all the people boarding back in the 1920’s, 1930’s and later, to get their cruise. A hologram of a waiting staff, that was talking to you when you rang the bell, looking directly into YOUR eyes, was only adding to that feeling.
That part of our visit to Belfast made more impact on us than the visit the museum. Do not get us wrong, the museum is really worth seeing. It is just our weird, personal feeling ๐
How about the boys? There were walking around, pushing buttons, listening to the stories, solving puzzles and enjoying every single minute of our trip (so far :)).
