One of the first stops during our Christmas trip to Belfast – Belfast Castle.

Belfast Castle is located 400 feet (121.92 meters) above sea level on Cave Hill overlooking the city. Built by the Normans in the 12th Century, the original Belfast castle sat within the city of Belfast itself. In 1611, the Baron of Belfast replaced the old castle with one made of stone and timber, building on the same spot as the original castle. Belfast Castle is open to the public daily with a visitor center, antique shop, restaurant, and a playground.

How do we get there? There were 5 adults and 2 kids packed in a 7-seater for couple of hours 🙂 Though? Not really, but couple of stop along the way were neccessary.

Beautiful views of the castle and its surroundings gave us that boost before the main attraction of our trip – Titanic Museum Belfast. But that is next. Meanwhile you can enjoy some more photos of the castle on our FB page –> Belfast Castle

See you next time.
